HAGAN SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

Eligibility Requirements
1. Must attend a public, private, charter, magnet, or STEM high school located in the United States.
2. Must be fluent in the English language.
3. Must be in the high school graduating class.
4. Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
5. Must enroll in an eligible four-year or higher College or University the first fall semester following high school graduation. The Hagan Scholarship cannot be used to attend a community college, junior college, or online institution.
6. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college, or complete the equivalent of a four year degree if in a professional program.
7. Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2025 until September 1, 2025. Work must be regularly scheduled employment performed under supervision for compensation. Employment can be full-time or part-time, or a combination of the two.
8. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2023 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total income received by all members of a household living under the same roof.
9. FAFSA information is not required from applicants. But, will be required from selected finalists in early 2025.
10. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
11. Must not have a felony conviction.
The intended recipient is a high-achieving goal-driven student having substantial financial need.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR BLANCO HIGH SCHOOL
Criteria:

- All available scholarships are listed on this page. Clicking on the name of a specific scholarship will allow you to view the detailed eligibility information. You will have the option to sort the scholarships or to type in keywords in the query line to research specific scholarship criteria.
- To start your application, select the "Apply Now" button above the list of scholarships; this will take you to the Login Page (Note, this button will NOT be available before December 2, 2024).
- The Logan Page will allow you to establish a user ID. You will also find written and video tutorials for any reference needs you may have. The Logan Page may also be accessed on the Community Foundation's home page using the Login tab.
- The Community Foundation scholarship application is a universal application that will need to be completed one time. Based on your responses to questions, the system will automatically determine your eligibility for each of the scholarships held at the Foundation. Upon submittal, a notification page will populate a list of the scholarships you have successfully applied for. If one or more of these scholarships require an additional essay, letter of recommendation, etc. you will receive directions on how to complete those additional requirements
- Your GPA must be stated on a 4.0 scale. Your counselor should be able to help you convert to this scale if your school uses a different scale.
2025 COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR BLANCO HIGH SCHOOL
- The Hill Country Performing Arts Scholarship is offered to graduating students who have participated in one or more types of performing arts and who will be pursuing a degree at a higher-level school of performing arts.
- The James Eastland Memorial Scholarship is offered to graduating seniors in the Hill Country who attended Hunt Independent School District for at least one academic year.
- The Karolyn Kolb Martinez "Excellence in Nursing" Memorial Scholarship is offered to graduating seniors who are pursuing a career in the nursing field. Recipients of this scholarship can reapply for three consecutive years, given they maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Prior recipients reapplying will be considered equally with other qualified applicants.

LCRA SCHOLARSHIP FOR BLANCO HIGH SCHOOL
Criteria:
- Attend Blinn College, Texas State Technical College (TSTC) or Tyler Junior College on an approved degree plan (see flyers attached)
- Commit to paid summer internships with LCRA
- Commit to 3 years of guaranteed, full time employment with LCRA upon graduation

Texas Telephone Association Foundation Scholarship (TTAF)
Criteria:
♦ U.S. Citizen;
♦ Student graduating from a Texas high school no later than June 2025 from a school within a TTA member company’s service area.
♦ Student achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (out of a possible 4.0);
♦ Student planning to attend a Texas college or university by the Fall of 2025
♦ A completed application postmarked no later than March 14, 2025, including a current transcript
♦ A letter of acceptance from a Texas college or university where student has been accepted.
♦ Student typed essay, consisting of between 300 - 1,000 words explaining their qualifications for the scholarship, their future goals, and how the scholarship will assist them in achieving those goals.
♦ Copy of student’s SAR (Student Aid Report).
*Please note--special consideration will be given to students who will be pursuing a college degree in fields of study which are of particular interest to telecommunications (such as math, business, education, technology, engineering, and computer science, etc.). HAGAN SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
Criteria: Fall applicants cannot reapply.
- Must attend a high school located in the United States.
- Must have achieved an unweighted 3.50 CGPA based on a 4.0 Grading Scale.
- Must enroll in an eligible four-year College or University the first fall semester following high school graduation.
- Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2025 until September 1, 2025. Work must be regularly scheduled employment performed under supervision for compensation. Employment can be full-time or part-time.
- Award recipients will be eligible to receive up to $7500 each semester.
- After graduation, eligible recipients can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship.

CAPITAL FARM CREDIT YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria:
- Funds shall be used to attend an accredited vocational or technical school, college or university. Student must maintain full time status.
- Applicants must be high school seniors, graduating within the current school year.
- Applicant must demonstrate that they have a tentative educational plan and goals, related to fields in agriculture or natural resources (may include Ag Communications, Ag Economics/Business, Ag Education, Wildlife or Ranch Management, etc.).
- Applicants must include digital copies of the following documents along with their completed online application for consideration:

b. 2 letters of recommendation

Criteria:
- The student does not have the means to attend college without financial assistance.
- The student must have been accepted in a Texas State College, University or Vocational Institution.
- The student must complete the Scholarship Application with a brief resume attached including work history.
- Attach recent Income Tax Returns, W-2’s or 1099’s for student, mother, and father where applicable.
- Student is required to submit an application and a 250 to 500 word typed essay entitled “Why I Need & Deserve This Scholarship” to the EWA Scholarship Committee.
- A Principal’s letter and four letters of recommendation must be obtained from relationships other than family members.
- Attach a State of Texas Academic Achievement Report
- Based on the essays and qualifications students will be selected for interviews. Interview dates and times will be sent to the student and the counselors .
- Members of the EWA Scholarship Committee will interview candidates and make final selections.
- Scholarship recipients will be announced at graduation ceremonies if possible.
- A Thank You Note is required after a scholarship is awarded. All notes should be sent to the EWA Board of Directors c/o the EWA Scholarship Committee, 231 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, TX 78028.
- The student must start school no later than the fall semester after being awarded the scholarship.
- The student must agree to be bound by these Guidelines and to meet all reporting requirements.

Criteria:
- Be an active member, in good standing, of a Blanco Co. 4-H program and/or FFA program.
- Be a current year graduating senior.
- Score at least an 850 on the SAT or an 18 on the ACT (if required)
- Have participated in the Blanco County Youth Show.
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Have three (3) attached letters of recommendation.
- Attach a copy of most current transcript.
- Attach a one-page autobiography explaining:
- Family background
- Highlights of awards and activities
- Future plans and goals
- Attach a copy of a letter of acceptance from the school of your choice.

BLANCO PTO SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria:
- Applicant must be a high school senior at Blanco High School and be eligible for graduation.
- Parent/Guardian(s) must be current members of Blanco PTO as of December 31, 2024.
- The scholarship must be used for the purpose of study at an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
- Upon evidence of enrollment, the scholarship funds will be paid to the school where the recipient is enrolled.
- Selection of scholarship recipient(s) will be determined by a committee appointed by the Blanco PTO Executive Board.
- If any scholarship recipients do not accept their scholarships, the refused scholarship will be awarded to the next applicant on the ranked list.

This individual will be seeking a postsecondary education through a technical school or institution. The scholarships will be for $2000.00 or $1000.00 per semester for one academic year (2 semesters) or equivalent. The scholarship honors Joe Garcia, a founding member of the Rotary Club of Blanco County and an individual who embodied our Motto of “Service over Self”. The scholarships will be for $1,000 or $500 per semester for one academic year (2 semesters). The application package must be completed and post-marked no later than April 30, 2025.
